Understanding Ring Size Charts
When purchasing a ring in the US, you will come across the ring sizes that mostly range from numbers 3-10.5. These numbers correspond to your ring diameter â the inner circle diameter to be more precise. The diameter is measured in mm. The ring size is determined by comparing the diameter of the measured finger to the corresponding number found in the ring chart.
Measuring Ring Size
Find a ring that fits. Make sure it is in the center or the largest area of the circle â this is the diameter. If you wear stackable rings, select one size larger.
Measuring Using a String
Use a piece of string, or a strip of paper to measure your finger. Use string or paper thatâs Âœ an inch or 1.4 cm. Wrap it around the base of your finger or the top of your knuckle if youâre aiming for a midi ring. Use a pen or pencil to mark the point where the string or paper overlaps or forms a circle. This should be snug and fitted to your finger but not too tight that it will leave a mark, cut off circulation or slip off. Next, measure the length of the paper or string from the end to the pen mark â this is the measurement of your finger. You can then use the ring chart to determine your ring size in numbers.
